Our Calling and the Church

Christ-followers

Christ-followers (disciples) are called to glorify God by following Christ and making/multiplying other Christ-followers.

At Life Worth Living, we help churches experience revival and revitalization so families and communities may find hope, healing, and thrive.

Jesus Christ intends for His followers to multiply. Future generations depend on this. God loves people and sent His Son to demonstrate His love. By dying on the cross to pay for the sins of the world, Jesus made it possible for fallen mankind to receive eternal life and experience a real and personal relationship with Him.

God demonstrated His love for us by sending Jesus to die for us (Ro. 5:8). By His life and teaching Jesus is mankind’s model of a life bringing glory to God and reaching its potential – a life worth living.

Jesus called a few men to follow Him and learn from Him. He invested His life in these followers (disciples) so that through them His love and life would be multiplied. Before He left the earth, He commanded His followers to do as He did and help others to follow Him (Mt. 28:18-20; Jn. 20:21). As His followers obey Him the number of followers multiplies (Acts 6:7).

Jesus also intends for churches to multiply as His disciples multiply. He promised to build His church (Mt. 16:18). As believers are filled (controlled) with His Spirit (Eph. 5:18b) they witness and make disciples who multiply (2 Tim. 2:2). This is how Jesus builds His church.

True Christ-followers seek to imitate the example of the Lord and assemble for worship, prayer, study, and fellowship. By doing this, believers build one another up and by their unity others recognize Jesus is the Son of God (1Thes. 5:11; Jn. 17:21,23).

Jesus not only spent time with His inner circle of followers, He took them with Him to show them how to share the gospel. He trained them to make disciples even as He did.

As the gospel is shared and disciples multiply churches also multiply.

When believers are following Christ in the power of the Spirit, they experience the full and meaningful life Jesus came to give (Jn. 10:10b). Healthy, Spirit-led believers make healthy Spirit-led churches.
